This year’s edition of FINNOSUMMIT, the most important Fintech event in latin America, took place on September the 12th and 13th at the Centro Cultural Roberto Cantoral in Mexico City. Over 1500 investors, entrepreneurs, financial institutions representatives, consultants and high impact executives from 15 different countries attended the conference.
For this Panel we had Bill Cilluffo , partner at QED Investors, as facilitator and Thayde Olarte, Head of Digital Banking at Scotiabank and David Arana CEO & Founder of Konfío as speakers, who chatted about the opportunities and the challenges that big traditional financial entities and Fintech startups face when trying to collaborate.
Some of the difficulties that the speakers highlighted have to do with trying to have both bank and Fintech cultures being combined and they agreed that establishing this kind of partnership is a trip that always takes longer than expected, but they also stated that it is, in any case “an amazing journey”.
