The past May 2017 the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Finnovista published the Fintech report: Innovations you may not know were from Latin America and the Caribbean, where we identified 703 Fintech entrepreneurial projects in 15 Latin American countries and presented key findings of the sector’s current status in the region.
The IDB has recognized the rapid growth the Fintech ecosystem has undergone in Latin America. The understanding of the type of solutions that are being developed in the region, as well as the maturity and development stage of the Fintech sector in Latin America compared with other regions, are now a priority for the IDB. Hence, an in-depth analysis and a report about the progress made in the region have become a priority for the IDB.
Therefore, for the second consecutive year, the IDB and Finnovista have decided to work together in the update and extension of the analysis about the Latin American Fintech sector in a more comprehensive and detailed approach. For this reason we invite all Fintech startups in the 18 countries to participate in the study, particularly those coming from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, República Dominicana, Uruguay and Venezuela, by completing the IDB survey for Fintech Startups in Latin America 2018. Collected answers will enable us to update the Fintech report: Innovations you may not know were from Latin America and the Caribbean and establish guidelines about the current state of Latin American Fintech startups compared with other regions in the world.
The information and aggregated data of the industry will be collected in a final report that will be published and freely distributed to governmental entities, policymakers, financial regulators, financial institutions, chambers of commerce, business communities, mass media, among others, during Q2 in 2018, as well as being available on the IDB’s and Finnovista’s corresponding web pages. None of the startups’ individual information will be published without prior and written consent.
Thus, we invite all Fintech startups from the above-mentioned countries to complete the survey in order to make the most in-depth investigation in the region to date, at the same time they become part of the development and awareness of the Latin American Fintech entrepreneurship. All interested startups have until the following February 28th, 2018. In case of any doubts please contact fintech.radar@finnovista.com.
