How the Finnovista Fintech Radar helped position Visa as an ecosystem leader in five LatAm countries
Since 2017, Visa and FINNOSUMMIT (through Finnovista) have been working together on a wide array of initiatives such as startup competitions and engagement programs such as the Visa Everywhere Initiative LAC to connect with startups. Visa was also a corporate partner in the globally recognized Startupbootcamp acceleration and scaling programs in Mexico City, managed by Finnovista, which gave it access to the best Fintech entrepreneurs in Latin America.
In 2023, and after having presented together with FINNOSUMMIT a series of webinars to position itself as a thought leader in the regional Fintech ecosystem, Visa needed to go one step further to be chosen by Fintech entrepreneurs in the region as their preferred partner.
With the need to know, connect and learn more about Fintech startups in order to gain positioning in the Fintech ecosystem in different Latin American countries and at a regional level, Visa found again in FINNOSUMMIT the best partner to achieve its objective. The Finnovista Fintech Radar, the most recognized country-level Fintech reports in the region, known for its high quality and deep analysis of emerging Fintech trends, together with local, community launch events were the way to position Visa in five key Latin American ecosystems.
During 2023 and part of 2024, FINNOSUMMIT and Visa embarked on a multi-country program to publish and launch the Finnovista Fintech Radar in the five largest Fintech ecosystems in Spanish-speaking LATAM (Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico) with Visa sponsoring these renown studies together with community and media launch events for each of the five reports. The press from all these countries were able to hear first-hand from the FINNOSUMMIT and Visa teams about the most relevant insights from the reports. Visa was thus positioned in the most important business, financial, technology and entrepreneurship media in each country as the digital payments company most involved in the Fintech ecosystems of these countries.
The Visa team also participated in the five Fintech Radar presentation events to the Fintech community, where they were able to talk about trends and headline fireside chats and panels with other players in the ecosystem. The most innovative Fintech startups from each country, as well as others already established in the market, were able to make pitches to Visa with the aim of making themselves known and establishing potential alliances and future collaborations.
Through the Finnovista Fintech Radar, Visa:
- Became a thought leader in the development and evolution of the Fintech ecosystem in five countries - Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico, which represent 60% of the Fintech market in the LAC region.
- Improved its positioning in the Fintech ecosystem as a favorite partner of Fintech startups.
- Increased its presence in community events in different Latin American countries, learning first-hand from entrepreneurs and their teams about their pain points and challenges in digital payments.
