FINNOSUMMIT culminates in 2020 with the seventh edition of FINNOSUMMIT Hour. This year’s virtual event brought together more than 3,500 entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and professionals in Fintech and Insurtech, where every month they discussed topics of interest about the latest trends and events faced by the ecosystem.
The latest edition of 2020 offered a dynamic fireside chat between Brian Requarth, Co-Founder of ‘Latitud’, and Andrés Fontao, Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Finnovista, about Requarth’s great journey on the path of entrepreneurship, as well as how getting to know different places and cultures led him to build Viva Real, his first project. Through an unfortunate experience with the real estate agents in Brazil, he had the impulse to develop a new solution to simplify the rental of properties in the region.
For Requarth, Viva Real is the ‘Mercado Libre’ of real estate in Brazil, and he always focused 100% on this country. “I didn’t want to be placed 3 at 5 different markets, so I decided to be the number 1”, he added. In fact, Requarth highlighted that it wasn’t an easy process to reach that market, and had to go through years of struggling, mistakes and great challenges before succeeding.
At this edition, Requarth also highlighted the value of patience, a key factor in achieving success in entrepreneurship, as well as empathy, being positive, believing in ourselves and focusing on our long-term vision with perseverance.
The investor referred to Latin America as a region with great opportunities for entrepreneurship and investment, given the friction and growth potential in the region, creating a field of innovation and a market full of changes for improvement. “Fintech has become one of the sectors that is well-advanced, a behemoth of an ecosystem and a great business center.”
At the end of the fireside chat, Atrato, Flotify and Scorce, startups alumni from Startupbootcamp Scale FinTech Mexico City, introduced to the FINNOSUMMIT Hour community their innovative solutions and their evolution.
Rogelio Rea, Co-Founder and CEO of Atrato, explained how the payment method they offer operates on a non-credit card system. Giovanna Muñoz, Co-Founder and CEO of Flotify, presented this solution for the Insurance sector that will allow SMEs to compare different insurance policies with this first small-fleet multi-marketer tool, while Daniel España, Co-Founder and CEO of Scorce, described this API Hub that protects and helps online businesses grow.
